As we wrap up our Extra Swim Week, let’s talk about all things plus size swimsuits… Let’s talk plus size swimwear under $100!
Four or five years ago, plus size girls couldn’t get a decent plus size swimsuit under $100. But did you know that an average swimsuit costs $263?! Based on who wears what?through Lyst, “The most popular brands today sell for an average of $263!”
Heck, it’s hard to FIND oversized swimwear! Shopping is a nightmare, and Marie (the founder of The Curvy Fashionista) will spend an absurd number of hours scouring the web for affordable plus size swimwear.

There is hope for Plus Size Swimsuits Under $100!
Fast forward to 2023 and we have a LOT plus swim size option. Now, our problem is to remember what the swimwear stores offer! And in these sizes!!!
This year, we have included 1 piece list plus swimwear size and 2 pieces plus bikini size (wearing a bikini!). I love how the designers add peek-a-boo cuts and offer low-waist bikinis for plus-sized mermaids. Also, I’ve largely eliminated the black swimsuits – only those with really cool cuts or other features!

After all, life is great spending it wearing a boring black plus size swimsuit! Take your place honey!! Wearing black doesn’t do what you think it will (ahem!), so you might as well live your life FUN at the beach or pool, mmmmmk?
Get out of your comfort zone, honey, and enter the world of color! It’s fun to wear sexy velvet suits or bold and bright prints!
Okay, are you ready?
Let’s go!!!

I have to admit, I’m not a fan of the bright neon colors, or the ’80s colors we’ve seen this swim season, but they’re perfect for me! Seeing the variety of models in swimsuits this year, I realized that neon colors go well with all skin tones! I also love seeing the “power of flowers” designs go back to the 1970s and reinvented in 2023!
