The video begins with Karen Gillan driving to her caravan, which looks like a small apartment, complete with a kitchen. She put on some clothes that could be damaged by the blue rays and went to the makeup chair, where she would sit for a few hours. Then a tailor helped Gillan put on her elaborate superhero costume. Interestingly, Gillan has some trouble remembering which MCU movies Nebula has appeared in.
Knowing she was filming a video diary, Gillan paused during her makeup to answer some fan questions, pointing out that she had undergone Nebula makeup more than 170 times over the course of four feature films. . Eight minutes after the 25-minute video, it was finally morning. Looks like Gillan has a very, very, very long workday. She mentioned that the filming of “Episode 3” took about 60 days.
The video continues to show Gillan in her Nebula tent, where she relaxes while the “Guardians” crew prepares the scene. Here’s a piece of footage that will be something special for fans: we see Gillan acting out in a supposed spaceship, surrounded by a floor-only green screen and the window frame is actually in the room with her. Her scene is opposite Rocket Raccoon, and she’ll transfer her lines to a miniature model of the character.
At the end of filming, it was an arduous process for Gillan to remove makeup and costumes. The next day, she had to do it again, while promoting another movie.
Tired, yes. But lovely.
