KAWASAKI, Japan — Toshiba Electronics and Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) has launched a high-speed four-channel digital isolator, “DCL54xx01 Series”, featuring high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) 100kV/μs (min) and data rates 150Mbps high speed. Bulk shipments of six products in the series start today.

Ensuring the safety and reliability of factory automation equipment requires isolating devices that ensure insulation and prevent noise propagation. Toshiba is currently offering digital isolators as a solution to the requirements of higher speed and multichannel signal transmission as well as high CMTI.
The new products use Toshiba’s proprietary magnetic coupling-type insulated transmission method to deliver high CMTI of 100kV/μs (min) [1]. This realizes high tolerance to input/output electrical interference in isolated signal communication, and contributes to stable control signal transmission and equipment operation. With a low pulse width distortion of 0.8ns (typ.) [2] and 150Mbps (max) high-speed data rate, digital isolators are suitable for multi-channel high-speed communication applications such as I/O interface with SPI communication.
Toshiba has been supplying its customers with optocouplers, an isolator that ensures insulation through optical coupling, for 50 years now. In the future, in addition to optocouplers, the company will expand its product line of high-speed four-channel digital isolators, plus the number of channels and packages, and provide high-quality isolators that support Supports the reliable, real-time data transmission needed to control industrial equipment.
