U.S. oil company ConocoPhillips on Friday said it would exercise its right of first refusal and buy TotalEnergies’ 50% stake in the Surmont oil sands project for $4 billion. Bank of Western Canada. (TSX:CWB). Finance. Down $1.43, or 5.86%, to $22.99. CWB Financial Group raised its quarterly dividend as it reported a drop in second-quarter profit from a year ago and said it is targeting lower-than-expected annual loan growth. The Edmonton-based bank said it will now pay a quarterly dividend of 33 cents per share, up one cent from 32 cents per share. The increased payment comes as the CWB said its common stockholders’ net income totaled $70.0 million or 73 cents per diluted share for the quarter ended April 30. , down from $74.2 million or 82 cents per diluted share in the same quarter a year earlier.
