THIS is the shocking moment a cop desperately clings to the roof of a suspect’s speeding car before he is thrown flying and breaks his back.
The impressive footage shows police the officer pointed the gun at the driver and grabbed it engine when he accelerates.
Police officer Patrick McCarty pulls Dennis Guider Jr. Illinois because there is a warrant for his arrest.
He asked Guider, 29, to get out of the car, but instead he drove towards the officer, who pulled out a gun and jumped on the hood.
McCarty told him to “Stop that damn car!”, but ended up being dragged over the top of the motorcycle as it was traveling at about 50 mph.
Guider ignored the officer and continued driving when McCarty yelled at him to “shut over” and “slap the damn brakes”.


The officer then dragged himself onto the roof in a desperate attempt to cling.
Guider then drove through a ditch when the officer clung to the roof, sending him flying up and landing on his back.
In dash cam footage released by police, McCarty can be seen calling out “I need a doctor”.
He then told his concerned partner “I’m fine, man, go get him”, despite the severity of the injury.
McCarty took nearly a year to recover from an incident that left him with a broken back and unable to work for three months.
There was an arrest warrant for Guider for a forgery case in Illinois when he was stopped by McCarty on March 5, 2021.
Guider last week pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by vehicle and was sentenced to up to five years in prison. prisonNew York Post reported.
