He can be seen having trouble jumping onto the train as it looks like his leg got caught somewhere.
Horrified onlookers could hear screams as they realized what had happened, while the man struggled to remain on the surface.
With the help of the crew, he was finally able to jump on board as blood trickled down his severed leg.
Footage from the scene shows passengers on board gathering to help the still conscious man.
The horrible accident happened in Sint Maarten in the Carribean near Bobby’s Marina.
Preliminary police investigation showed the victim jumped into the water and tried to swim towards a water taxi parked at the pier, according to local media.
He was trying to climb to the back of the water taxi when his foot caught on the propeller.
He received immediate medical attention before being immediately transferred to St Maarten Medical Centre.
He remains in a critical but stable condition.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
