Street Fighter 6’s wacky single-player world tour Detail

One of the most interesting and mysterious elements of Street Fighter 6 is World Tour, a single-player open-world exploration mode that Capcom previously showed only a glimpse of. Thankfully, today’s Street Fighter 6 Showcase has finally pulled back the curtain on what the World Tour entails, and it’s looking fun.

The World Tour begins with the player creating a custom fighter that acts as the mode’s protagonist. When creating your avatar (which can be used outside of the World Tour in the online Battle Hub), you are transported into Metro City from the Final Battle series, one of the many city centers worth exploring. World Tour. Other destinations include the growing Asian city, Nayshall.

As a fledgling warrior, you will embark on your quest to become a world warrior. You’ll accomplish this by completing quests while running around and fighting the citizens, who all happen to boxers. You’ll also be attacked by silly enemies, ranging from boxed thugs to literal fridges, depending on which city you’re in. The gameplay seamlessly transitions from exploration to 1v1 battles, and some battles even offer specific goals for additional rewards, such as performing certain moves. In addition, using a special ability called Drive Stall allows you time to gather data to escape from pursuing enemies or rush into them before the start of battle.

The world map allows you to navigate between many cities around the globe, and each city has familiar and unexpected faces. You can become a student of legendary fighters, including all 18 launcher fighters like Chun-Li, allowing you to apply their fighting style in combat and get special moves used for discovery. For example, you can learn Ryu/Ken’s stormy kick, which can allow you to fly through gaps while standing on a platform. The more you practice with a legendary master, the stronger your relationship with them becomes. Raising the bond unlocks new quests and story content for that owner, and giving them gifts also increases their relationship with you.

You can buy gifts and other items by visiting in-game merchants. In addition, you can buy health-restoring foods or grant temporary stat boosts/decreases during and out of battle. Winning battles will yield XP as well as skill points that are used to unlock permanent stats boosts from the skill tree, as well as special move abilities. In addition, a variety of primary and secondary tasks as well as other options can be selected and managed on a smartphone-like device.

The World Tour looks powerful as well as absurd (in a good way) and we’re happy to get our hands on it. Thankfully, one experiment allows the player to take a short stroll through these treacherous streets. Street Fighter 6 launches on June 2 for PlayStation, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
