The large number of witnesses was the main reason why there were 12 scheduled sessions. It is reported that the State Attorney’s Office has proposed 100 witnesses, 30 from the Prosecutor’s Office and 60 from the defense.

CNN received a ruling in which the investigating judge said there was “enough evidence” to hold a trial for the male singer’s tax evasion allegations in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
According to the report, Judge Marco Jesús declared Shakira had lived in Spain more than 200 days a year for those three years, making her liable to pay taxes there.
Furthermore, Judge Jesús also appointed her financial advisor in the ruling. They said the two authenticated using a series of companies in overseas tax havens to conceal her source of income during those three years.
Her attorney insists she lived in the Bahamas most of the time between 2012 and 2014.
