MADELEINE McCann police found a “link of interest” after a three-day search for the total missing at a desolate reservoir near Praia da Luz.
Police are transporting evidence discovered during digging for forensic analysis to Germany after they dug holes, searched through bushes and dug holes at the Abrade Dam.
Portuguese media reported that some of the items found by police included “clothes and plastic objects”.
They also reportedly discovered a “bra strap” during the search, reports CMJournal.
And police have denied reports that the manhunt was sparked by a video camera and a gun.
Scientists are expected to have the initial results of the forensic test next week – but a full report is not expected for months.

This large-scale operation is the first of its kind since 2014.
German police said they would issue a statement if searches did not turn up any new evidence.
But if there are new clues, the statement will be delayed as they work to build the case.
