‘Sex/Life’ criticized by Netflix
It appeared the star Sarah Shahi (“Person of Interest,” “Bullet to the Head,” “Old School”) was back up before the show was cancelled. She’s signed on to star in a new legal drama, “Judgement,” for ABC. According to the report of Duration, Shahi will star in the pilot and from former “Charmed” host Joey Falco and 20th Television. It is currently in contention to be sold seasonally at ABC. Shahi also co-starred with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the DC comic book superhero movie, “Black Adam,” released last October.
While the show was canceled with a second season, the show provided an ending for Shahi’s character Billie to reunite with her ex, Brad (Adam Demos). The two were married on a beach. However, host Stacy Rukeyser previously told THR that she doesn’t consider the last episode to be the end of the series.

Rukeyser said, while speaking to THR, “The episode was never intended to be the end of the series, that’s for sure.” The host continued: “I know there are always many stories to tell with these characters in the ‘Sex/Life’ universe and I hope we get a chance to tell those stories. We need to get to a place that makes sense for each character this season.” Whether or not Rukeyster gets a chance to tell other stories she has in mind for the show will remain to be seen.
Shahi also noted in a recent podcast interview with “Not Thin But Not Fat” that she didn’t feel the support for the second season existed for the first. She also said that she “struggled with the material” in Season 2.
Netflix internal data has the series amassing 126.8 million hours of viewing globally between March 2 and March 26, before the series dropped out of the Top 10 English shows on the streaming platform. Viewership is down about 45% from a similar time frame for the first season, drawing about 232.79 million cast members when it’s released in June 2021.

Season 2 also saw Demos’ character reduced to a role, which Shahi called a “eccentric”. Shahi and Demos began dating in December 2020, which Shahi credits helped the pair become famous while talking to “Not Skinny But Not Fat”.
The film also stars Mike Vogel, Margaret Odette, Cleo Anthony and Darius Homayoun. The series is based on the book “44 Chapters about 4 Men” by BB Easton. Rukeyser executive produced the series with J. Miles Dale and Jordan Hawley.
Some of Netflix’s newer shows have recently been renewed for Season 2 to include “The Recruit,” “The Mole,” “The Lincoln Lawyer,” and “The Sandman.” Netflix has refreshed “The Recruit,” starring Shahi’s “Black Adam” star Noah Centineo, this early year.
While the show is canceled, Netflix subscribers will still be able to watch two seasons of “Sex/Life” on the streamer.
