Man, 31, charged with murder over family home blaze that killed mum and two daughters | UK | News

Jamie Barrow, 31, has been charged with the murder of a mother and her two daughters.

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed three people died in a fire at their home in Clifton, Fairisle Close.

The victims of the fire were Fatoumatta Hydara, 28, and daughters Fatimah Drammeh, three, and Naeemah Drammeh, one.

Officials said Mr Barrow, also of Fairisle Close, will be held overnight to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Friday.

Fatimah and Naeemah were taken to the hospital after a fire at dawn on Sunday, November 20, but nothing could be done to save them.

Fatoumatta was put on life support but passed away on Tuesday morning.

To pay his respects, Mr Drammeh, who flew back from the US after the fire, said he had lost his family in “such a tragic way”.

He went on to describe Fatoumtta as someone who “didn’t have the heart to hurt a fly”.

Mr. Drammah said: “Fatoumatta has lived a short but very beautiful and fulfilling life. A former volunteer worker, Fatoumatta is a very cheerful, vibrant woman who has no heart to hurt a child. flies.

“We thank the Ahmadi Muslim community in Nottinghamshire, the Gambian community, local neighbors and all people of good will for their continued support during this difficult time.

“My husband and I do not have any daughters, grandchildren or granddaughters. I will miss my family so much.”

Speaking at the time, Detective Chief Inspector Mark Sinski, who is leading the investigation, urged anyone with information to come forward.

In a statement, he said: “Words cannot describe the pain that the families of the victims are feeling right now and we are doing everything we can to get the justice they deserve. .

“Every piece of evidence we can gather will move us closer to achieving that goal – so please contact us if you know of anything or have been in or around Fairisle. Close between 12am and 4:30am on Sunday.”
