Husband killer CAROLINE Crouch convinced his parents to testify in his defense in a shameful attempt to reduce his prison sentence.

Nearly two years after Caroline was killed, The Sun learned that Babis had arranged for six witnesses to testify before an appeals court in Athens when he find a way to reduce the prison sentence.
Appearing in court on Monday, the pilot took the unprecedented step of apologizing to Caroline’s family for what he had done.
“I regret what I did,” he told the court.
“I want to apologize to Caroline’s parents. I never wanted to harm my family.”
The display of apparent remorse was intended to convince the court that Caroline’s murder was not premeditated and that he acted instead in “the heat of the moment”.
But in 37 days, Babis brazenly claimed ruthless robbers broke into the couple’s home in Athens and strangled Crouch while she was sleeping next to their young daughter.
He even killed the family pet dog, Roxy, to make the crime a reality.
On May 16 of last year, he was sentenced to 27 years in prison.
Under the new law, he also served 10 years in prison for the murder of Roxy.
The puppy was discovered by police hanging from the railing of their home.
Speaking in court on Monday, the two officers who discovered Babis described Babis as “a very good actor”.
They told the judges they believed the crime was premeditated.
But Babis’ legal team argued that no mitigating circumstances were taken into account in the previous trial.
Babis is now calling on his parents and four other witnesses to defend him during the appeal hearing.
Before the hearing, defense lawyer Alexandros Papaioannides said: “There will be quite a few new witnesses and documents containing the elements that will help reverse this case.
“I think there will be a better assessment [by the court] about the circumstances that took place that day regarding the crime he committed and whether it was done in a fit of temper.”
Back in February, David Crouch, Caroline’s devastated father Babis .’s appeal for reduction of sentence was rejected is “absolutely despicable”.
He told Greek media: “It is despicable that my daughter’s killer is trying to get his prison sentence reduced for his ‘good behaviour’.”
“The crime committed by the killer, the murder of women, is a heinous crime that deserves particularly severe punishment.
“In my view, men who kill their wives, for whatever reason, are the lowest of all, equal to pedophiles.
“I think it will be a sad day for women when the man who kills a defenseless woman and sleeps with her baby will go to prison below his full prison sentence. This man deserves it. scornful.”
