Irina Shayk revealed her daughter’s enormous influence on her life and said she “didn’t have time for people’s opinions.” In her feature for Harper’s Market In May, the model said that her six-year-old daughter was a big part of her “starting to love herself more”.
Shayk also credits the great values she has learned from her grandmother, who she describes as “basically the icon of everything”. Elsewhere in the interview, she shared a piece of advice for helping people who don’t feel pretty.

In her cover story for Harper’s Market‘S In the latest issue, Shayk talked about learning to love all her imperfections after giving birth to her child Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, six, whom she shares with the actor. Bradley Cooper.
“My daughter was a big part of what made me start to love myself more,” she said. She would say, ‘I love you so much, I love you so much, I love Nana, I love Babulya—’ who is my mother. Then she said, ‘And I really love myself.’ And I was looking at my daughter and I said, ‘Well, I wasn’t like that when I was six years old when I was sold…’”
Knowing how impressive kids can be in this age of social media, Shayk said she is teaching her daughter values that don’t focus on superficial things like “wearing a mask, wearing makeup, comb your hair, wear nice clothes.”
“Every time we take him to school, we say, ‘Just remember kindness and love.’ So I think that’s the real beauty.”

Shayk also revealed how she learned these values, saying that her grandmother, whom she describes as “basically the symbol of everything,” instilled them.
The model recalls how much she admires her, especially her strength and positivity and how she favors nature.
“She never wears makeup and would use things in the fridge, such as strawberries or cucumbers, to cover her face,” says Shayk. She was so positive and grateful every day and was like, ‘Always be yourself. Be kind to everyone.’ That is true beauty.”
Now a mother, she doesn’t let that stop her from expressing her femininity, no matter what people think or say.
She said, “Sometimes I wake up feeling cute and I think, ‘Oh, should I post these pictures on social media?’ A voice says, ‘Oh, but people will say, ‘You’re a mother.’ And I was like, ‘But what does it mean?’”
She added: “You’re a mom, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go out in a tiny dress or snap a sexy photo.”
She’s ‘No Time for People’s Opinions’

Lessons from her grandmother and daughter helped Shayk mature, which she says helped her deal with objections during the early days of her modeling career.
She recalls hearing comments like, “Oh my God, she doesn’t look like a model. She’s not skinny, she’s too sexy, she’ll never be a model” but never thought about it.
“I don’t have time for people’s opinions. Why did I click and read 2,000 comments? I hardly rely on it,” says Shayk, noting that balancing parenting responsibilities with a career has taken up most of her time.
In the end, all that matters to her is just having the support of her loved ones and family.
The mother-of-one said: “I have friends, family. They love me, and I know who I am. I don’t give out many, many SHI…you know the word, what people really think of me.”

Elsewhere in the interview, she offered advice on what one should do when not feeling pretty, describing such periods as “a disconnection of one’s inner energy.” Friend”.
“It is very important to take time for yourself,” she said. It doesn’t matter if it’s 30 minutes or an hour; just reconnect and listen to your body and think, ‘Why am I feeling this way?’ ….Everyone needs to find something for themselves. Meditate, go to infrared sauna. Just do it for five minutes.”
Shayk further notes that the solution doesn’t lie in looking at faces quickly, saying one needs to find out what’s wrong inside.
The model says: “It’s not about how you look; that’s what’s inside of you. That’s how I reconnect with myself and try to feel connected and connected inside. And that’s also how I feel beautiful on the outside.”
