Embark Studios has shifted the scope of its upcoming shooter, Arc Raiders. the game is published for the first time in 2021 as a collaborative PvE-focused experience about working together to battle invading alien machines. Now, the game will have more PvP elements.
In an update, Embark revealed that since delaying Arc Raiders to focus on completing his other upcoming title, Final match, it added competitive gameplay as well as an element of mining. The game still opens on a distant future Earth ravaged by sentient machines, but now teams must compete with players other than the game’s enemies. Furthermore, the game adopts mining-based objectives by tasking players with locating and retrieving resources scattered around the world for their team. Here’s Embark’s presentation of what Arc Raiders currently requires:
People fled to the underground colony of Speranza, looking for supplies to survive and shelter from the machines. Demand for resources is at an all-time high. But acquiring those resources is a risky business, and it’s not for everyone.
But it is a job for you.
That’s why you’ve enlisted as a Raid, looking for vital supplies scattered all over the place. Everything from leftovers from yesterday’s ARC race to the impossibility of a ball-shooter.
Out there, the stakes are very high and you will have to fight for your loot. The lethal ARC machine roams the surface. And there are no rules in Calabretta, so beware of other Raiders.
For those who trade in Speranza, trust is hard to earn and easy to lose. You need to earn your hold. So don’t come back empty handed after a mission.

Start planning to launch a closed alpha test, giving players registered on their website their first chance to get a hands-on experience with Arc Raiders. The game still doesn’t have a release date, but it’s coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
