In a recent discussion with bustle, The Young Artist Award winner reflected on how a tumultuous year has affected her mental health when discussing her new book, “September Letters”. “I was blind, and everything I thought I knew, considered sacred, and actually believed in my life was completely different. A few days later, my grandmother passed away and I think everything I know about mental health has been checked,” continued the Tampa native.
Although she is suddenly faced with a series of stressful emotions, the “Guiding Light” star is survived by her wonderful friends. Acknowledging the power of having a solid support system, the artist said:
“Thank god for my friends. I don’t know if I would be able to do it without them. They remind me of who I am and what I stand for. I have used all the tools that I know of. All of them.”
Some of the friends responsible for helping the 37-year-old get through the past year were “Perfect pitch” costar. Talking about her cappella sisters, Snow said that their relationship has extended beyond the big screen to real life.
“When you’re promoting a movie, it’s always like, ‘Oh, we’re all best friends, and we all love each other,’ because that helps sell the movie. But in this case, we became close friends, if not family,” explained the blue-eyed goddess.
While recalling a heartbreaking moment from 2022, the Love Is Louder movement co-founder chose not to name a specific co-star who played a key role in her recovery after “difficult” divorce.
“Last year was tough for me, and one of the girls, you know, just opened the door for her, and I fell to the ground and just cried and lay there,” the Tampa native revealed. “And she took care of me for about four days.”
Praising the anonymous “Pitch Perfect” star with tributes, the anti-bullying advocate confessed that she never thought her co-star would be capable of supporting her. This lesson was so important that Snow added it to his book.
“I think that’s the point of this book, knowing that what you can have in your toolkit is a community of friends that will sit with you on the floor,” explains the media personality. “They don’t need to give you advice. They don’t have to fix it for you. They are just there.”
