A UKRAINIAN ballerina was killed on a combat mission after signing up to fight against the Russian invasion.
Rosyslav Yanchyshen, 31, died in a mortar attack.
The country’s culture ministry called his death an “unspeakable loss”.
Odesa Opera soloist signed up to volunteer with of Ukraine defend the territory in the early days of the war.
“The artist’s ballet shoes have been replaced by military boots, and the music by mortars,” said Odesa Opera.
He had dance with the company for ten years.


Its boss, Harry Sevoyan, added: “He’s a smart, talented, decent and intelligent man.”
