Kym Beechey, 56 years old, was picking up a lunch box that was left outside when he saw deadly animals hide about.
Kym, by Jilliby, New South Walesdiscovered the head of a deadly red-bellied black snake sticking out of one of her daughter’s shoes – a species known for its painful bite.
She said: “I went to the front porch to collect an abandoned lunchbox that was in danger of becoming the subject of a scandal. science experiment.
“I stooped down to pick up a lone lunchbox and nearly headbutted my tough friend, so even in a shoe my face was in greatest danger.”
Kym said the snake was curled up, “hugging” in her daughter’s body mountain bike shoes.


She joked, “She’s so glad I found it, not her!”
The dangers of red-bellied snakes were familiar to Kym, who had encountered the snake many times in the past.
