A man was shot dead on the corner of Hill and 1st Streets in downtown Los Angeles on Friday night and police are searching for the suspect.
Police were called to the scene, near the Civic Center/Grand Park subway station, shortly before midnight. They were informed that the victim, a 36-year-old black man, was arguing with a 23-year-old white man when the 23-year-old pulled a gun and shot the victim, Officer Jarer Chaves said. .
The victim was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. Chaves said the suspect fled the scene on foot and was unharmed on Saturday morning.
Some additional details about the shooting were immediately available, but police have said the victim was not a homeless individual.
