I’ve been working in plus size fashion for YEARS, and I’ve learned a few things that I think will definitely help plus-size brides looking for a non-traditional wedding dress.
My tip:
- Ignore the haters! Ok, maybe they’re not your haters, but you should definitely focus on feeling your best on YOUR special day. You can politely decline the idea of family members wanting you to wear a super traditional dress.
- Go CUSTOMIZE! Ok, so you can *certainly* find a gorgeous non-traditional wedding dress in a larger boutique, but working with a 1:1 designer is FUN – and the cost is often very similar to a regular oversized wedding dress.
- GET IT OUT! If you’re going for a non-traditional plus size wedding dress, I definitely think you should add a two-in-one look, add lace to frame the tattoo, etc. Go for it – maybe a black wedding dress , colorful wedding dresses – or something completely unexpected!
- DON’T FORGET ACCESSORIES! When it comes to non-traditional plus size wedding dresses, you want to be sure to find unique accessories. We love a chunky heel!
